front end,body sag 850 1996

Recently my front tires have begun rubbing the inner fender wells, more so when turning causes the front end to dip.I have looked at the diagram of the strut assembly and related parts. My struts themselves seem to still be in decent working order and I don't see that anything has fallen out of place but when I inspected the under the hood area of the strut assembly I notice an air gap of about 3/8"-1/2" between the (cap?)and the strut mount, when I jack up the body this gap closes.I assume that gap is the amount of sag that I have.I am prepared to replace the struts and anything else that need be,but how can I tell what needs be?I read a post earlier that suggested that the bump stops don't often fail.any advise on what I should be replacing would be greatly appreciated (springs?).
Thanks All
