Small Radiator Leak 850 1993

Stop leak products have their place, like in the glovebox for that road side emergency repair. Otherwise, if you have the time go ahead and fix it right and forego putting any glue in the system. An 850 radiator is not what I would call fairly easy to do, for the home guy anyhow. Everything in the front end is bolted to the radiator, the fan shroud, condenser, intercooler on the turbos, everything. To add insult to injury the radiator has to be dropped out the bottom which necessitates pulling off the airguides and raising the vehicle enough that you can pull it out the bottom without having the condenser bouncing off your head, all the while with residual coolant and atf dripping on your head. I do them all of the time but I have a shop and a hoist and all of the other stuff that goes with it. I had one customer tow one in just recently when the car slipped off the jacks while doing it and the whole deal landed on the radiator. Boy was that a mess. Obviously it is something that can be done at home but it will not be the cake walk that a any of the red engine radiators are.
