I had similar issues except the misfire was at cylinder 1. After changing out the parts you mentioned, still very rough idle and then no start. Finally took it to my Volvo mechanic and it was finally traced back to bad injectors.....

Mine was also a 1996 850 (turbo) with 135k on the clock.
