RPM (impulse sensor) location V70-XC70 2001

Helping a friend with XC70 intermittent crank and no start, I'm not familiar with XC. So starting with FPR and RPM sensor.

I a new RPM (impulse sensor) but cannot find anything that looks like it, at least in view. See two similar sensors on transmission housing area but they smaller in diameter from the part I have. I double checked the part number to make sure had proper part and OK.

Would appreciate any help for this 940, 740 owner who now has a better appreciation for you who work on this East/West engine configuration.
