Just installed a PYP CD player unit in my '95. Had to erase the "ERROR" display and of course the code based on the questionable donor car VIN did not work. I called a local dealer and was able to provide them with the radio Model Number, Serial Number and Part number. They used whatever program they have and gave me a new code over the phone which worked just fine. Just wanted to let everyone know this was possible to do. If your local dealer wants you to bring the radio in or charge you for the code just call around to other dealers. The parts department person at Power Volvo in Irvine CA was very helpfull. It may even be worth a long distance call.
