Key fobs- 850 850

I am not sure about 1997, but it is worth a try. First, make sure your battery you replaced is installed correctly - "+" and "-".

Get in the car, close the doors. Turn the key from pos 0 to pos II 5 times. Leave it in posII the 5th time. The little red light on top of the dash should now be blinking rapidly or on steady, forgot which. Push either the lock or unlock button once and watch the red light. It should change to steady or blinking for 10 seconds. When the light changes push your second remote button once, wait for 10 seconds and turn the ignition off. Try both remotes to lock/unlock the doors.
