p 0410 V70-XC70

P0410 code keeps coming back.

About a year ago, I replaced the SAS air pump due to noisy operation (at same time, I drilled a hole in the housing to allow water to escape) Anyhow, the check engine light came on a few weeks ago. I read code p0410 then checked the vacuum elbows and lines; pulled the check valve and it seemed to be prety full of carbon etc so replaced it with new Volvo item reset the light and went on. It lasted several days and now the light is back on. I guess the only piece left is the vacuum switch/controller. What have you guys done to rectify this as I know the p0410 code is prevalent on the early 70 series and probably 850s too.
