TB, Oil leak, CV joints 850 1995

I need to change a timing belt on a 95 850GLT non-turbo. Hanes says I need to fabricate a tool to secure the cams from the dist/cam sensor end. Bay13 makes no mention of the procedure. Looks to me, that if the timing marks on the cams & crank are lined up, everything should be ok.

My question is: do I need to make the securing tool. Also, should I replace the water pump while I'm this close to it? (120,000 Miles)

A couple more questions:
1-I have a serious oil leak witch seems to be coming from the valve cover.
With the exhaust heat shield removed, the oil looks like it is coming from
above the exhaust manifold. Is the valve cover the most likely suspect,
or should I look elsewhere?

2-Does anyone have a good link for directions to replace halfshafts and cv
joints? I couldn't find it on Bay13.

Sorry for the long post, but any help will be really appreciated.

Thanks
New Guy NC
