Service light question 850 1996

Loving my new wagon, been performing admirably... to whoever said they 850 doesn't have any personality, I'd recommend driving a pathfinder for a year and then seeing how you feel! Not as charming as my 245, but waaaay more fun to actually drive!

Every time the car starts the "service" light comes on and stays on for about two minutes and then turns off regardless of whether it's just idling or actually moving. Also happens if the car has been running and is restarted. It never comes on at any other time and everything seems to be ok with the car - any thoughts as to what could be causing this? I tried disconnecting the negative lead for 10 minutes to reset the computer but the darn thing still comes on every time you start the car.

thanks!
