I have a 98 s70. I had to take mine to the dealer to get it programmed. I tried the 5x on and off and it did nothing.

My remote had 4 buttons, lock, unlock, trunk release, and a round red button for the alarm ( but it did nothing)

Got a remote on ebay for about 45, dealer stole about 75 from me for programming but washed the car and filled the washer fluid for me, so I guess in some way it evened out....riiight...
