V70 GLT Skip and Dip V70-XC70 1998

We have a '98 V70 GLT that has recently begun to exhibit the infamous skip and dip stumble. We've been through this on our 850 and S70, though it's been some years. This car doesn't even have 50k miles on it so I guess it's a little behind getting the symptoms. As usual, no check engine light, no codes, happens rarely. I've been in touch with three dealers who are all giving me incredible runarounds based on wanting to charge me $300-$500 for diagnosis and rebuilding of throttle bodies, replacing cam sensors, all kinds of crap and none of them are familiar with the motronic upgrade. One actually did the old "we have to keep it until it exhibits the problem" routine. Gee, are they going to drive my car for a week?

Is there anyone out there doing ECU work who can do this for me without it costing me a ton of time and a small fortune?
