Engine light 850 1996

Now that my steering is back to normal and my service light is no longer on every time the car starts, I have a new gremlin...

We'd had the car about two weeks, put about 250 miles on it, when the check engine light comes on. I check all the fluids, belts, filter, etc, and see nothing wrong. While installing a new radio I disconnect the battery and upon restart the light is off.

250ish miles later it comes on again. M curiosity peaked, I disconnect the battery, reset everything, and sure enough the light stays off until today when...

we cross the 250ish mile point and the light comes on again. Any ideas what could cause this? Is it some sort of fuel analysis or computer hiccup? I'm not -too- worried since it's nothing so severe as to trigger the light immediately. The car seems to be running perfectly and we get about 24 MPG highway, 20 city so I'm not sure as to what is causing this. Help!
