AC cutting out on '99 V70 V70-XC70 1999

Two easy things to look for, AC clutch gap and engine fan relay. The engine fan should turn on if the compressor is running.
The gap in the clutch should not exceed .040 inch, use a feeler gauge. If it is .040 or greater, the electromagnet may not be strong enough to pull in the clutch when things warm up. There is a fix for this on Volvospeed.com :

The plastic tabs take only 5 minutes to put on. Do the one hardest to reach first.
