I too had to remove that bracket. I saw a picture of a throttle plate and air intake assembly on an 850 where there was a hole in the throttle cable bracket which made the pressure check easy. Don't know if that was a later feature or the owner/tech made the hole.

Both the regulator desription and Klaus' data say the pressure should go up with less vacuum (i.e. revving up). I'll look further soon.
