Many thanks to Ken C, Klaus and the rest for helping me understand.

While I do my best to restrain my throttle foot ( Strother MacMinn , one of my instructors at Art Center College of Design in 1973 explained that with modern fuel injection there is a direct relation between pedal position and fuel consumption!), but I sometimes feel the need to escape a stupid situation, and when I press my foot down, I have no intention of being left wondering why it won't respond!
