electric cooling fan switch? 850 1996

The only "switch" is the engine coolant temp sensor which also drives the gauge in the dash. If you suspect the coolant to be hotter than normal and no fan is engaged, then it could be the fan relay. The relay is located above the radiator (nice hot location for relays) and should be checked.
Try a search on engine fan relay.
