Really stuck antenna mast 850

The antenna mast on my 95 850 is stuck less than half way up(has been for years). After reading the numerous posts regarding fixing antennas I tried to remove the mast as directed on Bay13 but with no luck. I pulled the entire antenna and took it apart. I verified that the motor still works as expected and the white gearing is actually in good shape. I suspect the body of the mast just got stuck one day and is now some what "fused" in place. If I can get it out I can simply put in a replacement mast. If not I'm looking at a lot of money to replace the entire unit. I tried greasing, heating and pulling. Any suggestions on what else to try? Thank you in advance.
