Transmission shifting V70-XC70 2004

I have a 2004 V70, with automatic transmission,85,000 miles. I have noticed that when the transmission shifts into 3 rd gear (every so often) it delays slightly, the RPM's climb 300-400 RPM, then it shifts up and all is normal.
The problem is only apparent in warm weather, on an up-shift and only going into 3rd gear. The fluid is a clean red and correctly topped-off. It only seems to happen under a light throttle acceleration, if you accelerate briskly it does not seem to happen and shifts smoothly with an immediate drop in RPM.
does this sound like a mechnical or software issue????????????????? Thx.
