S60 Timing Belt Tensioner S60

I replaced the TB, tensioner and idler pulley on this 2001 S60 T5 yesterday and all went well except for adjusting the tensioner. I started out with the hex adjuster at 10 o'clock as instructed, then turned the hex CCW until the indicator traveled from l to r and passed the final setting. Then when I went to turn the hex wrench CW to bring the indicator back to the final setting, the "ear" that rests on the left side of the flange on the block wants to bend. I adjusted it as best as I could and it seems to work fine. When I press on the upper and left sides of the timing belt the tensioner indicator moves right then back left to the resting point. However I'm still a bit worried about the bending of the ear. Is this going to cause some problems later?
