Back in the old days, I would have said that the PNP switch is starting to go. So, try this:
Turn the key to pos II (on) with the engine off. "row" the shift lever fron R to L about a dozen times. Turn the key to off and the shifter in P. Start the car and see if the message goes away. If that "fixes" it, you will need a new PNP switch. BTW, PNP = park, neutral, position switch.
