Master window switch 850 1994

I have had fits with my master window switch. The drivers side window goes down but will not go down. I have bought and returned two of them on ebay. The first one would not go up on the right rear window and the second one would not up on the right front side. I am coming to the conclusion that there is a design problem with them. Have any of you had problems with that switch? How did you solve it?
