Those console window switches were a poor design. All of the crud falls into the switch, especially from the flimsy cup holders.
Your choice is to buy a new-in-box unit or gamble with a junk yard one. People have taken them apart and cleaned the tarnish off the contacts, but it is not a very easy job.
