Lock Replacement S70

Received my "Salvaged" lock. Erie supplied the lock with the cable from the inside door handle. Does it make sense to keep the cable attached to the replacement lock and remove the cable from the inside door handle from the one I'm removing?

Also, the Bay 13 procedure does not address how the outside front door handle is attached to the lock assembly... Also, I think th Bay 13 photo's are from a rear door, the front door opening for the lock assembley appears to be much smaller. Are their any tricks to remove the front lock out that small opening?
