Beloved V70 T5 left me stranded on the side of the road V70-XC70 1999

HI drj.
When this happened to me ealier this year (97 AWD V70), it simply turned out to be lack of fuel. the gauge was showing eight galls. but the sender unit had stuck! With having had flu for about ten days, and my wife driving the car, I had lost that instictive 'feel' for fuel usage and the tank was empty!!

Interestingly a local trip boat skipper had to give sixtyodd people their money back the other day because the engine would not start, despite him filling the 100 gall. tanks the previous night, it turned out that the all electronic super automatic fuel pump had run out of fuel, but continued to 'serve' him and charge his account. He had lost his fuel dipstick.

I offer you the information.

Best regards.
Howard. Isle Of Skye.
