Your co-worker deserves a beer for that find. The accordian hose tears a lot on NA engines, very seldom on turbos. And it just caused a stumble?
Usually for us HPT engine types, that would cause a "bang" and total lack of boost and limping back home.
$100??? Those guys are nuts! Duct tape would have been cheaper :)
