Tar stuck to the tire? How to get off?

I finally got to the tar today after the car sat in the garage for a week. Pull off the wheel, scrape with a 1/4in screwdriver for 45 minutes, and then give the area a bath with gasoline and an old brush. All gone! Including the little tiny grooves which were full of tar and very small bits of sand.

I took it for a little spin and smooth as silk at 70mph. What a nice car!

I still miss my 164 and my 854T. Just driving a V70R :)
