Oil Pan drain Plug V70-XC70 2004

I have owned 6 volvo's from a 240 and newer. We now have a 2004 V70 and a
2003 XC. None of the other volvo's ever leaked from the plug area when the plug was installed with a snug tightness and a new copper washer (850 may have been Al). The present cars, will both weep oil (Al washers) unless you apply tighting loads that seem close to causing thread damage. If I have the dealer change the oil, the next time I have to hammer on the wrench to free the plug !!!
Why the shift to an Al washer??? more cost than copper???? Why not use copper or is there a gavanic concern???? Thx.
