Engine power loss V70-XC70 1998

I drove my car over 100 miles yesterday on both country road, stopping at lights with no problem and highway with speeds up to 70 with no problem. No sign of any troubl, smooth as a well oiled watch. Pulled into a rest stop shut the engine down. Five minutes later it started but appeared to be running on one cylinder. Absolutely no power. It then stalled out and would not re start. Had it towed back to my residence and there it sits. Any suggestion as what to look for. The engine cranks but will not stay running. When it runs it is shaking and trembling with no power then dies.
