How did my blower fan fix itself?

My climate control fan was squealing off and on, especially after going over big bumps. I would shut the fan switch off for a while and it would be ok for a long while. It seems to be acting up much less frequently (this summer as opposed to last winter). So much so that I left the replacement fan from FPC Groton in the basement and even thought about selling it (the fan not the car)

Please vote for one:

A)-the power of mental concentration
B)-gremlins came in with tiny oil cans instead of hammers

D)-the cabin filter installed 3 years ago has prevented gunk from attacking the fan
