Electronic Cooling Fan V70-XC70

I replaced my Heater core and thermostat Now it seems like my cooling fan comes on even when the car is fairly cold and remains on for a long time. Today I was driving in traffic mid seventies and temp guage rose above the 3 oclock position and fluid leaked from top of expansion tank. Fan did not kick in. What controls the operation of the fan? It was replaced about 2 months ago. I love the car but it has been killing me recently put new cooling fan heater core front and year roaters and calipers alternator ABS rebuilt AC compressor rebuilt tie rods inner and outer new tires AC evaporator E brakes and cable timming belt. Will need a Rear wiper motor (moving really slow now) And Steering is still hard even after flushing the system. Is it worth Keeping in your opnion? It has only 160k on it. Thanks
