MAF questions - Solved 850 1995

Despite the code indicating the MAF, it appears that was not the issue.

I had done a quick check for spark the first day the car wouldn't start. I had at least some spark, but I noticed that the ignition wires said 94-42 on them. I bought this car in February with no records and figuring that that code might mean the 42nd week of 1994, I ordered new wires right away and they arrived today. After installing them, the car started, so I guess weak spark was my issue all along.

It says a LOT for the Volvo/Bogicord wires if they were 14 years old before they finally gave it up! I recommend a shorter replacement interval, however.

Thanks for all your help, Klaus and for others who had suggestions. Just goes to show that it pays to eliminate all the simple things first.

Andy
