S70 CMP Camshaft Position Sensor Error S70 1998

Gentlemen and Ladies
I am getting a PO340 Camshaft Position Error Sensor A (Bank 1 or single sensor)
The car runs every once and a while, but not when hot (just a theory... since I can get to my destination, but not back)
Can this CMP be cleaned, or is it something that I need to replace, or is this indicative of some other problem that won't be resolved by the CMP replacement.
I seek your advice, brickboard.
I did a search for 1998 S70 CMP's and found nothing for this series, is this a rare problem, or am I going to find that the connector is just dirty.
Thanks,
Rich in CO
