ignition switch S60 2004

Somewhere on this board, I remember others who have had the same problem... the key gets stuck.
Try turning the key harder (dont break the key off!!) to get past the sticky part. From off to on, repeatedly. That seems to work.

To get to the ignition switch require you to take off the plastic clamshell around the steering column. Torx screwdriver is needed - Sears has a folding one with 8 different sizes for $5. The ignition switch is the aluminum round gizmo with all of the wires attached. Two screws hold it on to the left hand side of the column. Don't unplug the wires. With the key in the acc position and the steering wheel free to turn, use a flat screwdriver to turn the ignition switch to start and back to on.
I don't reccomend driving like this! The turn signal is hard to use when it is hanging there, and so are the wiper controls. But if you don't have far to go, it is worth a shot.
