Had a 760 for almost 9 years now. Great car. Tried an S70, 1999, what a piece of junk. My daughter totaled it, I was glad, she was ok, didn't even set of the air bags.
We are now trying an 850, 1996. 150,000 on it now. It was stored inside, had maint. records, and 2 owners.
Anyway this is what I have fixed to date (with BB help, esp. Klaus)
1. Replaced the antenna mast only 36.00 oem from dealer
2. Repaired the drivers side door check with a rear drivers side check with goes inside the door, and the exterior part from the mine. Pullapart donor 3.00
3. Repaired the rear drivers side seat recliner by using Bay13 at volvospeed.com and shortened the cable by pulling off the metal end, cutting out 3/8", putting the end back on and reassembling it.
4. The rear CD changer did not work. Pulled it and replace the fuse and holder under it with a new holder and fuse. The old one was corroded.
5. Repaired the odometer with the ipd gear and dvd. 50.00 cost but worth it. Took about 2 hours, but a very straight forward instruction and repair.
6. Today, repaired the cruise control. The switch on the brake that deactivates the cruise when you touch the brake was not making. glued a piece of rubber hose to the pedal shaft. The switch makes and it works now.
7. Replaced the floppy drivers side visor with pullapart donor.
This puts everything back in working order except the tape player, would care but my daughter would like to play her ipod with it.
Any ideas on tape player repair?
Just want to post this in hopes some else can repair the same of similar problems.
