2001 xc v70 Accelerate then feel engine grabing; pulling back ; V70-XC70

Some of the symptoms sound like a tired Turbo Control Valve, though some do not. Perhaps the clanking in unrelated or caused by something hitting metal when the car lurches. The turbo control valves seem to go every 30,000 to 40,000 miles in my experience. Fairly cheap and real easy to replace (I've done two in the last 2 years - on different cars, a V70 and a XC70).
