strut and bumps 850

Car was bought used. The guy had replaced struts, stabilizing bar etc

Since we got the car made a slight noise when going over a bump on the right side. Over time it got progressively worse and recently we had it into sears. They diagnosed it as a worn rubber strut mount. I went down to volvo and bought one. Sears was to busy so we brought it to another place. They said the bearing was also bad.

After picking up the car it was much better but the slight noise is back. I think that a symptom was fixed but the underlining problem still exists.

I look at the old bearing with the rubber mount and I can see that the mount was worn to one side. For this to happen seems that the strut was not hitting the center of the mount.

Can struts be put in wrong to create this?
