1999 V70 V70-XC70

Hello, There was some minor confusion during that period. "ATF" was cited as the power steering fluid in the owner's manual. Just flush it with Volvo synthetic fluid or Pentosin CHF 11S (both pale transparant green), if the color has changed to brown or black. My 1999 didn't have VVT. That's almost a moot point since the timing belt and related rollers are the same. I'm told not all 1999s had spin on oil filters, some had replaceable cartridges. If you do buy it, go to a Volvo dealer for the service campaigns regarding the headlight switch and a software download; #s 142 and 155. Remember: Volvo lengthened the warranty on the Electronic Throttle Body to 10 years or 200,000 miles. Because of the unperfected design of the first generation ETB. I'd subtract an additional $1,000 from any offer you'd make. Call it your ETB repair fund-and tell the car dealer so. Let us know what you decide to do. Kira
