That might work, but first I would follow the wire to the underdash area and see where it plugs in. It might be possible to replace the seat wire with one from a pick&pull, put fuses in the slots, and then try it.
Do it on the passenger seat first, so you will still be able to drive.

Otherwise, start replacing the seat covers which isn't that difficult.
