no drriver's side heat to floor on '97 850 850

my '97 850 glt has the automatic / temperature on the dial system... there is heat to the floor of the front passenger side, but the driver's side has none. rest of the system seems to work ok.

I've had cold feet before, but a ride of any length in the temps we are having is brutal for the driver.

any ideas?
