When I start my car cold the blower motor works fine. then shut the car off for 1 hr. it doesn't blow at all. after 10 minutes of driving it will start to blow very softly and chirp. Quiets on left turns but not on rights. The next cold start works like nothing is wrong. When it is acting up the climate control ac and rec will blink,but I don't know how to retrive the codes? This is a 1996 volvo 850 turbo with automatic climate control. I could change out the blower motor. But I am curious what are the symptom of a faulty blower motor resistor? And how do you remove the fan cage from the motor shaft properly; besides a sled hammer. I was thinking of just buying the motor and not the whole assembly. Help please.
