Smoke box? S70

If your mechanic is refering to the oil separator box, he is correct. It is time to replace it and the oil breather lines that run to the box, crankcase, and the air intake. The black plastic box is under the intake manifold and requires the manifold to be removed to get at it. About a 3 hour job for him and at least 5 hours for DIY.

Usually, when the box gets clogged, the crankcase pressure gets too great and seals start leaking oil beginning with the rear cam seal or the rear main seal. You might also be loosing oil at the oil filler cap or dip stick.
