Platinum plugs V70-XC70 2003

Okay. Wasn't thinking too much, but I went to buy new plugs from the store, and they sold me the G-power plugs from NGK. They were the cheapest ones they said matched my car. NGK's webpage confirms that it is one of the ones "for" my car:

Now I did some reading after I installed them and sounds like platinum is a big no no. There seem to be many different opinions out there.

They are in the car now- and I have to say it's a very smooth ride, but..

Plugs blowing apart? Really??

PS- even my wife says it rides smoother, and she never says anything- not even when the rear wheel bearing was replaced did she comment!
