closure of problem with up-and-down movement of driver's electric seat -- 1995 850 turbo sedan 850

About a year ago, the up-and-down movement of the driver's electric seat of our car stopped working, fortunately at the ... up position! Every other movement of the electric seat was working fine. We got a couple of estimates ($$$) for fixing the (broken?) cable and whatever else might be needed. We decided to do nothing, about that, given the age and convenience of the apparently 'final' up position of the driver's seat, although the car is in excellent shape and condition.

A few days ago, the driver's seat started working ... 100% with no intervention whatsoever! We have no idea what happened, but it looks like the cable has been fine all along. Perhaps the car has ... 15 more years to go! We will see.

1995 850T sedan (170k miles and great fun for the last 14.5 years)
2006 2.5T S60 (wife's car; 24k miles and fun for the last 3.5 years)
