serpentine belt tensioner V70-XC70 1998

Hello fellows,

My 1998 V70 AWD has a square fitting on the serpentine belt tensioner.

I'm a bit confused, as I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that a metric hex (spanner?) wrench is to be used to take the tension off the belt in these cars.

Did I also read somewhere that the earlier cars (850s) had a square fitting instead of a hex fitting?

What wrench do I need to deal with this square fitting?
I'd love if someone could tell me what size wrench I need so I can go to the sore and get one without needing to measure ;)
