95 turbo running rich?? 850

95 850 turbo. When the car is at idle, either cold or hot,the smell of gas fumes is fairly strong. Its not a raw unburnt gas smell. Also my check engine light is on and the mileage is down, which stands to reason that I can smell excess fuel. Also the idle is erratic/slightly rough. any ideas?
