Klaus, thanks for the response. i have noticed that the temp gauge has been taking time getting to 'normal' running temp lately. hmmm, i thought the thermostat was changed when the timing belt was done at 109,000 and after checking my records, i see it wasn't. i guess that is as good of a place to start and a lot cheaper than a new cat.
