Steering noise S40-V40

My daughter's 00 S40 developed this noise on the steering when you turn at low speed on tight spaces,like parking. The noise is a like "tap" sound but it's more audible and noisier if you turn the steering wheel all the way to the end on either direction. What kind of a problem am I facing? The car has 66K miles.
