odometer not working 850

My guess is that while you were working on the switch, you hit the odometer reset button a little too hard or at a funny angle and broke the little gear. This happens to them all eventually and it's about a two hour job to take the dash apart, pull the gauge cluster out, take it apart, replace the gear and put it all back together. You see pictures of cars on ebay where the dash is all screwed up.......that's because someone was trying to do this job and didn't know about the two screws near the front underside in the glovebox area you have to remove in order to get the dash off. If you attempt, make sure the battery is disconnected and make sure the passenger air bag is hooked up again before you try to start the car again. You can the gear at FCP groton or on ebay. Also, IPD sells this nylon pry tool that is great for prying up the speaker grills and prying out the vents and the plastic pieces on the sides of the dash. The screws that hold the dash on are on theinside tops of the vents, the sides of the dash, a couple under the gauges, and the glove box and 4 10mm bolts inside the glove box opening that hold the airbag stuff in place. The plastic piece under the windshield is also very brittle...be careful sliding the dash off, or reinstalling.

Wait for more responses.... I'm not 100% sure the switch has absolutely nothing to do with the odometer, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't.
