Battery holddowns 850 1996

I've had a recurring problem with my battery, as some of you have likely already read about. Two different mechanics have now tested it and found the charging system is okay, the battery is good and there are no draws when the car is turned off. The only thing they suggested was replacing the missing battery holddowns. Between the two mechanics visits, I started disconnecting the battery every time I parked the car overnight. That seems to have been the only solution so far that has kept the battery from dying. Starts every time. But nobody can find anything wrong with car except the battery holdowns?? Could those really be the problem?
