Adding to my own post.

Started the car finally and it ran fine. The check engine light stayed off (yeah) I had the fan unhooked because I know it is bad, noisey, little motor smoking.

Here is the strange thing. I could not help but compression test my engine again.

ALL CYLINDERS WERE between 175 and 185.

Maybe my head gasket is fine after all??

Klaus, hope you are not laughing too loud.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
